Hospitality

We went to Kyoto during the winter holiday.
We stayed at the JAL Princess hotel.

We checked out of the hotel before noon and left our luggage there to do some sightseeing.
After sightseeing, we got a taxi and asked the driver to stop by the hotel on the way to the station.
I was ready to get out of the taxi to get our luggage when we arrived at the hotel.
Instead, a bell person came up to our taxi, asked us what we wanted, and came back with our luggage in one minute.
What nice service!
If we were in New York, even if we had been staying at a decent hotel, the same thing would never have happened.
I remember waiting in line for a very long time with a tip in my hand at a hotel in New York.
I still like lots of things in America, but hospitality in Japan is quite awesome.
