宿題

元気が良くて、皆頭がきれる、英検４級に全員合格した、小学６年生の男の子クラスでの出来事。。。
その日は先週渡したプリントで学習を進める予定にしていた。
皆、準備が出来ているのに、Ｇ君はまだプリントを探していた。
Ｇ君のバッグの中を見てみると、使っていない本やプリントのごみの山だった。
私は自分のプリントを渡しながら、｢クラス全員、いつもの宿題に加えて、バッグ整理も宿題！｣と冗談で言った。
次の週、通常の宿題をチェックした後、Ｔ君が言った。
｢先生、もう１つの宿題チェックは？｣
クラスの皆は、バッグ整理をしてきたのだった。
なんだか素直で、とても可愛かった。

G kun had a hard time finding a handout I had given out before as his bag was full of old books and paper.
I said to everyone in class, besides that week’s homework, tidying up inside their bags would be their homework.
I was just kidding.
The following week, after I finished checking their real homework, one of the students asked me, ‘How about the other homework?’
All 6 boys did their other homework.
That was cute.
