迷子の荷物

週末、一泊二日で湯田温泉の旅館に泊まり、久々に温泉を満喫してのんびり過ごした。
チェックアウトの後、宿の人が車を玄関までまわしてくれた。
その後三人の人が荷物を持ってお見送りについてきてくれた。
車に乗り込もうとした時、積もうとしている荷物を見た。
見たこともないスーツケースと大きなカバンが三個。
「これ私たちのじゃありません！」と私は叫んだ。
おかげで、あかの他人の荷物を持って帰らずに済んだ。
しかしあの荷物、確か私たちの前にチェックアウトして出発した家族の物。その家族の子供とちょっと会話をしたから覚えている。
あの人たちは、とっくにいなくなっていた。
あの荷物、どうなったんだろう？

Lost luggage

We stayed at a nice Ryokan in Yuda Onsen on the weekend.
After we checked out, one of the receptionists drove my car to the entrance, and three other receptionists followed us with our luggage to see us off.
When we were about to get into the car, one of them tried to load a suitcase and four big bags which were not ours.
I told him they were not ours.
I guess those bags belonged to some guests who had already left as there was no one else in the lobby.

野菜サラダ
チックピーのパテ
漬け込んだチキンススティック
週末友人を招いて食事をした。
チキンスティックの後はパエリア、そしてしめはビーフシチューだった。
やはり、最後はいい気分になって写真を撮り損ねた。
全て最初から手作り。美味しかった～。

Ｔ君は、英検を学習しいていて、私が個人レッスンを毎回担当している。
彼はとても礼儀正しく、学習態度も良く、それでいて子供らしさもある、理想の生徒だ。
そんなＴ君がレッスン中に突然「先生、右目の下に何かついてるよ。」と言った。
そうなんです。それは１０年前にレーザーでとったシミの部分が、ここ数年で復活してきた所。
どうしよっかな～？もう一度行こうかな～。どうしよっかな～？と考えている所だった。
Ｔ君の一言で、私はようやく決心がついたのであった。

T kun is a sweet, smart student.
I teach him Eiken stuff privately.
During the lesson, he said innocently, ‘Sensei, there is a little brown spot below your right eye.’
Yes! That’s a blotch I have. I’ve been wondering if I should get it removed.
I had laser treatment 10 years ago, but it came back.
T kun helped me to make up my mind.
