Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year

今年も沢山楽しい事があり、とても悲しい事があり、一年が暮れていく。
一日一日を大切に！と思いながら、気が付いたらあっという間に時が過ぎていく。
そういえば、今年の目標はなんだったっけ？
そうそう、毎日少しずつ運動する事だった。
うん！これは一年間、毎朝１５分のヨガ、急性胃炎の日を除き、細々と続いたな。
ＴＯＥＩＣ目標満点は、今年二回挑戦して達成できず。
結構毎日勉強したのに…
今は意気消沈している。また気力が戻ってきたら挑戦したいところだ。
今年も皆ありがとう。
２０１５年は、いよいよＢＪクラブ英会話も２０周年を迎える。
皆が楽しく、幸せに過ごせるよう、（勿論私自身も含む）
頑張っていきたい。

小泉進次郎さんが、中川さんを支持する為、東広島へやってきた。
演説は、なんとゆめタウンの駐車場、ＢＪクラブの道を挟んで真ん前だった。その時私は高校生のセンター試験対策クラスを教えていた。
ネイサンは英検のリスニング、ケイトは大人の会話クラスの時間だった。
イケメンの小泉氏を一目見たいものだと、ＢＪの窓から外を見る。
残念ながら、顔は一度も見えなかった。
堂々とした背中と、テレビのスポットライトが眩しかった。大音量のなりひびく３０分間。私を含め全員がレッスンに集中できなかった。

Mr. Koizumi came to Higashi Hiroshima to support Mr. Nakagawa.
The speeches were held in the parking lot of You Me town, which is right across from B.J.club.
I was teaching high school students preparing for entrance examinations.
Nathan was giving a listening lesson.
Kate was teaching conversation.
I wanted to see Mr. Koizumi because he is good looking.
However, I only saw his back out of the window and it was too loud for everyone (including me) to concentrate on the lesson.

銀行での会話

銀行で待っている間、お年寄りと銀行の男性のやりとりが耳に入ってきた。
お年寄りは病気になられたらしく「あまり私も長くないから。。。」と弱気で、定期預金を解約したいとのことだった。
銀行の人は「利子がつかなくなりますよ」と言い解約を渋っていた。
私は叫んだ「定期預金の利子って、たかが知れてるでしょ。解約してあげて、少しでも悩みを減らしてあげて」と、心の中で。

Conversation at the Bank

There was an old man and a banker talking in the bank.
I overheard their conversation.
The old man wanted to cancel his long term deposit account.
He thought he would not be living much longer.
The banker said if he cancelled it, there wouldn’t be any interest.
‘Come on, even with a big amount of money deposited, there isn’t much interest at your bank. Please return the old man his money,’ I said to myself.
